Customers sometimes check pricing online before visiting a location, then come with exact cash for their rental. Imagine their frustration when they arrive and are a few dollars short because they didn’t account for sales tax. We want to make sure our customers have accurate information at all times.

Do you charge sales tax in addition to your listed rental rates? If so, it’s important that you have “Sales Tax is Not Included” posted on your rental rate sign. And occasionally we hear of somebody who prefers to “include sales tax” in the price to make it easier by not having to deal with all of the change.  If you choose that route, you are likely leaving 6% – 8% – 10% on the table (with the exception of WFR in Oregon where they have no sales tax) which can add up to tens of thousands of dollars annually.
