A Handy Tip for Tire Inflation

In our never ending quest to satisfy Al’s greatest pet peeve, we’ve found a great portable tire inflator. As anyone who’s spent any time with Al knows, tires on our fleets need to be checked weekly, especially in the summer when warmer weather and greater temperature fluctuations cause tires to lose air at a faster rate.  Under inflated tires cause our customers to work harder making them less likely to come back or share with friends how much they enjoyed their Wheel Fun experience; and tires ridden below optimum pressure are also more likely to have pinch flats causing a bad customer experience and a cycle that needs repair.
This handy Ryobi Inflator is lightweight, portable, and easy to use.  In fact we have found that staff who are reluctant to use an air compressor find this much less intimidating.  Just clip it on to the valve stem and press the trigger and let the quiet hum of the inflator do the job while the easy to read gauge chugs up to the desired pressure.  We originally started using this tool at our locations that operate on solar power where a conventional compressor draws too much power, but word quickly spread how easy and friendly it is to use, so we now have them at most WFR Central locations.

Inflations Per Charge:

Standard 1.3 Ah battery: approximately 25 tire inflations (or 5 inflations from flat to full)

High capacity batteries: approximately 100 tire inflations (or 20 inflations from flat to full)

Weight: 2.5lb with standard 1.3 Ah battery

Time to inflate: You can inflate a completely deflated tire in 45 – 60 seconds, or top off the pressure in a tire in 20 – 30 seconds.

Both the standard and the high capacity batteries require a duty cycle of 5 minutes on, 5 minutes off as per the manufacturer’s safety regulations. The 5 minute break in between each use helps to prevent heat damage to the product and parts.
