Just in time to usher in the holiday season, Wheel Fun Rentals is delighted to remind you of their festive Holiday LED Illuminated Swan Boat Night Rides running 7 days-a-week starting at dusk. Holiday Swan Boat Night Rides are available at both Wheel Fun Rentals’ Echo Park in Los Angeles and at their Rainbow Lagoon location in Long Beach.
Wheel Fun Rentals’ signature Swan Boats are adorned with LED lights, transforming every outing into a magical nighttime experience. In Long Beach, riders can take in the annual “Trees in the Bay” display and soak up stunning views of the Queen Mary illuminated across Rainbow Harbor. Meanwhile, at Echo Park, twinkling reflections on the lake and the glittering Downtown LA skyline create an unforgettable backdrop for a holiday family outing, festive gathering, or dreamy December date night.

Recruiting & Hiring Best Practices
Over the coming months, many of us will be doubling the size of our current teams and some will be hiring completely new teams. With the upcoming hiring push, we wanted to share some best practices for the upcoming season.
Focus on Abilities Over Resumes
The best Wheel Fun staff are well-rounded and provide great customer service, preventative maintenance, and work well under pressure with no manager-on-duty. These traits can be hard to discern at the entry-level from a resume alone. We encourage broadening the pool of interviewees by also including candidates who may not have robust resumes; even those who will be working for the first time.
Promote Flexibility
Even though working all weekends and holidays are mandatory, often Wheel Fun Rentals work schedules are more flexible than other seasonal positions. We encourage making this well-known with your candidates, as flexible work arrangements are increasing in popularity.
Encourage Employee Referrals
If you are fortunate enough to have an employee associated with a pool of candidates that would be good hires, we encourage reaching out to them. For example, WFR Central has had recent success in hiring staff that were working part-time at an REI bike shop.
Make the Time to Call
We work to contact every candidate that applies within one business day of their application. Waiting for a group of 5 – 10 applicants to call at once can be detrimental to hiring a solid employee. Even if there was only one applicant, we encourage making the time to call them within one business day.
By focusing on capability over experience, promoting flexibility, tapping existing networks, and responding quickly to applicants, you can build high-performing teams and position themselves for a successful season ahead.

That’s right, the same swan boats you pedal with your friends, family, or special someone are now starring front and center in HBO’s latest L.A.-based show.
About the Show
Created by and starring Rachel Sennott, I Love LA follows a close-knit group of friends navigating love, ambition, and life in Los Angeles. It’s witty, heartfelt, and full of that perfectly chaotic L.A. energy, so naturally, scenes at Echo Park just made sense! Irvine Park Pumpkin Patch Returns for 2025

Orange, CA — Irvine Park Railroad is thrilled to welcome families back to its annual Pumpkin Patch, open daily from Saturday, September 13th through Friday, October 31st, 2025. Located inside scenic Irvine Regional Park, this beloved fall tradition features a variety of activities for all ages, including train rides, hay rides, face painting, carnival games, pumpkin decorating, and the chance to pick the perfect pumpkin from thousands available.
The Pumpkin Patch is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. All activities are open daily. New this year: October weekend reservations are now required for the Pumpkin Patch. Reservations are $20 per person and include entrance and a train ride. No reservations are needed for weekday visits or September weekends.
Activity tickets are $8 each, with a book of 15 tickets available for $100. Activity tickets may be purchased upon arrival. A highlight of the season is the 10th Annual Great Pumpkin Weigh-Off, which will take place on Saturday, September 20th at 9:00 AM. Pumpkin growers from across California will compete to see who has the heaviest pumpkin, with $8,500 in cash prizes awarded. Last year’s winning pumpkin weighed an impressive 1,955 pounds. This event is free to attend, and spectators are encouraged to arrive early for the best view. No reservations are required to attend this event.
Irvine Park Railroad hosts several other family-friendly events throughout the year, including the Easter Eggstravaganza, Train of Lights, and the popular Christmas Train. While visiting the Pumpkin Patch, guests can also enjoy other Irvine Regional Park activities such as Wheel Fun Rentals® at Irvine Park, pony rides, and the OC Zoo.
Please note that the park entrance fee, charged by the County of Orange, is $3.00 per vehicle on weekdays and $5.00 per vehicle on weekends. Irvine Park Railroad is open year-round for train rides. Train tickets are $8.00 per person, and children 12 months and younger ride free.
