The Power of the Press Release – January 2018

Press ReleaseAs you start to plan your marketing strategy for the upcoming season, remember that press releases are a great way to gain free media exposure. In addition to being free, they have a number of advantages over paid advertisements as they tend to have a stronger impact on those that read them. When you read a newspaper, do you look at every advertisement? Generally, no. However, if a press release is picked up and included in an article, the fact that it’s printed, rather than a paid advertisement gives it more credibility.

We’re here for you, so we encourage you to take advantage of the PR team at WFR Central and request press releases for newsworthy items from your location(s). Ask yourself:  what would a potential customer like to read about?

Newsworthy Topics are:

  • New location opening
  • Sponsoring, taking part in, or hosting an event.
  • Supporting a local charity.
  • Special promotion.
  • New product or service offered.
  • Seasonal special events
    • Easter Egg Hunts
    • SUP Yoga
    • Pumpkin Patches
    • Surrey Night Rides

If there is anything that you feel is newsworthy throughout the season, send a note to hannah@wheelfunrentals.com. We’ll help you with determining if it’s newsworthy. Once we’ve determined that it’s newsworthy, we’ll write a press release on your behalf and send it to you for approval. Once you’ve approved the release, we’ll distribute to media contacts in your area. If there’s a media contact you’d like to add to your media list, please send us the information and we’ll make sure they’ll future press releases.
