We’re here to help! If you have questions about our pedal boat rentals, you’re at the right place! Continue reading below to get answers for our most frequently asked questions about our Swan Pedal Boats.
How old do you have to be to rent a boat? Any age restrictions to ride?
Renters must have someone that is at least 18 years of age in the party to sign the liability rental waiver. (Current government issued photo-ID like a Drivers License, State ID, or Passport is required.) All ages are welcome to ride the Swan Pedal Boats (we even have infant life jackets). Minors under 15 years of age must have a parent or guardian over 18 years old onboard.
How much does it cost to rent a swan boat?
Pedal boat rentals are for a one-hour duration and are priced per-person. The price is $12per adult (18 years or older) and $7 per child (0-17 years).
How many people can fit on a swan boat?
Our large swan pedal boat can seat up to 5 passengers. Our small swan pedal boat can seat two adults and two children 10 years or younger. Once you check in on the dock, our rental staff will help determine which swan best works for your party.
What is the weight limit of the swan boat?
Our large swan pedal boats hold a total weight capacity of 1,400 lbs.
Are masks required to rent?
No, as of June, 15th 2021 masks are optional for customers.
Am I allowed to exit the swan boat at anytime during my ride?
No, once you have been dispatched on your boat, you may not return to the dock to exchange persons, add persons, remove persons, or for any other reason. You may return to the dock only to disembark and end your rental. We recommend using the restroom in advance of your ride.

WHAT SIZE LIFE JACKETS DO YOU HAVE?
We offer life jackets in a variety of sizes that can accommodate newborns through adult sizes up to a 70″ chest circumference.
Can I bring my own life jacket to wear?
Yes, you may wear your own life vest as long as it is certified by the US Coast Guard. Upon check in, please advise the staff that you have brought your own vest for the rental so it can be verified prior to boarding.
Are dogs allowed on the boats?
Yes, we are dog friendly. Pet owners should use good judgement when deciding whether or not to bring their dog. Dogs should be friendly, well socialized, and always kept on a leash when in line and on the dock. Pet owners are responsible for their dog(s) at all times including lifting them in and out of the boat. Dogs are not allowed to swim in the lake. Life jackets are not required for dogs, nor do we provide life jackets for pets. If you wish to bring your own life jacket for your dog, you may do so.
Are food and drinks allowed on the boats?
Yes, non-alcoholic drinks and food are permitted aboard swan pedal boats. A small lap-sized cooler is allowed. Bring a blanket and create your own sunset or evening picnic experience. Please note: there is no alcohol allowed onboard. All renters must abide by this rule or your rental will be terminated with no option for a refund.
Once on the pedal boat, are there any games that we can play?
Yes, we offer a free Find and Seek game that you can play on your mobile device. No additional software or apps are needed. When you board your swan pedal boat there will be a QR code on the neck of the swan that will give you instructions on how to play.
Are reservations required?
Yes, due to social distancing and capacity issues, all pedal boat rentals require a reservation.

I didn’t receive a confirmation email for my booking what should I do?
If you don’t receive your confirmation email within 10 minutes after booking, check your spam folder. If you still can’t find it, there may be a typo in the email address you entered. Email us at EchoSupport@wheelfunrentals.com with the full name your reservation is under, the date and time you reserved, and the correct email address you want the confirmation email sent to.
The time I want is sold out, do you have a waitlist for high-traffic times or illuminated night rides?
No, we do not have a waitlist since those times are sold out. Please find another date and time that is available.
What happens if I am running late?
If you are running a little late, no problem. We serve guests in the order they arrive, so just get in line. If you have an evening illuminated night ride, it is important you arrive as close to your scheduled time as possible. If you are late your ride time may be cut short. Or if you are the very last rental of the evening, and arrive late, you may even be turned away due to time regulations for having the boats off the water in the evening.
How do I change the headcount on my reservation?
Please email us at EchoSupport@wheelfunrentals.com with your requested headcount. When requesting to add people, we will do our best to accommodate based on availability and we will charge the card on file if there is space available. If you are decreasing headcount, we will issue you a refund for those people that are no longer riding, and you will see a credit back onto your card within 5 business days.
What is the cancellation policy and how do I cancel?
We have a very flexible cancellation and refund policy. We will issue you a full refund, no questions asked if you contact us by replying to your confirmation email a minimum of 1-hour prior to your reservation time. If you fail to notify us an hour prior to your ride time, or do not show up for your reservation, you are no longer eligible for a refund or the option to reschedule.
I can’t attend my date/time, how do I reschedule?
You can easily reschedule yourself by using the “reschedule” link towards the bottom of your booking or confirmation email. Please remember to reschedule yourself one-hour prior to your existing reservation time.
How do I make a reservation using an Annual Pass?
If you are an existing Annual Pass member and are trying to book online, please go to wheelfunrentals.com/pay and make a full priced reservation. Then reply to your booking confirmation email with a photo of the back of your Annual Pass and request your 50% discount. We will process a 50% refund for you within 4 hours.

Night ride start time varies throughout the year depending on when sunset is. You can the most current night ride information here >
Where is the best place to park?
There is limited parking in and around Echo Park Lake. We suggest taking an Uber or Lyft so you can be dropped off right in front of the boathouse. If you plan to drive, arrive early to find parking. There is a paid public parking lot with limited spaces at 1149 Echo Park Ave. We also suggest looking for street parking up Laguna Avenue.
