PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) – If you enjoy riding those surreys along the Kelly Drive outside Boathouse Row on a beautiful summer day, the fun doesn’t stop anymore when the sun goes down.
“We’re offering late night surrey rides,” said Wheel Fun Rentals co-manager Louis Guess.
This is made possible by the addition of LED lights.
“We have single ones that hold up to three adults and then we have double ones that hold up to six and they flash in the night, they have headlights and the wheels are also illuminated as well,” said Guess. “The lights are just eye-popping.”
Aside from the beauty of the whole experience, Guess said there’s another benefit to after hours surrey riding.
“You don’t have all the joggers and all the other cyclists,” he said. “You get to come and it’s like you’re doing something special. It’s a different experience, you come and everyone’s going to treat you like a star with the lit up surrey.”
You can try this out every night now into September. The cost to ride is the same as it is during the daytime hours.
