Rocky Statue and Steps
“All I wanna do is go the distance.” The famous steps where Rocky Balboa trained in the 1976 hit movie “Rocky” are an absolute must-see when touring Philadelphia. In 1982, prior to the release of “Rocky III,” Sylvester Stallone commissioned a bronze statue of his iconic character to be placed in front of this popular tourist attraction. You can’t miss getting a picture in the boxer’s classic pose!
Philadelphia Zoo
Back in 1859, it was the first official zoo to open in America – today it sits on a 42-acre Victorian Garden and hosts over 1300 animals, including rare species like the Mongoose Lemur and the Pied Tamarin. Take a moment to snap a picture with the impressive entrance art pieces before continuing your e-bike tour!
Shofuso Japanese House and Garden
Built in 1953 as a gift from Japan to American citizens that symbolized post-war peace and friendship, Japanese House and Garden offers tours of the historic building in addition to the beautiful landscaped gardens. Pause your e-bike tour to stroll beneath the trees or enjoy a snack while observing the koi fish.
The Wedges
Just one of the many fine art statues installed along the Schuylkill River, “the Wedges” by Robert Morris is comprised of eight pointed steel pieces that are arranged into a rounded square. Depending on the angle, the sculpture seems to defy gravity and float above ground.
