A Weekend In Santa Barbara, California
A few months ago, the Mister and I spent the weekend in Santa Barbara. It was our first trip actually staying there in the 7 years we’ve been traveling together and that is probably because I always thought the town was a little commercial and “old people-ish”, meaning if I wanted to go shopping at Anthropologie or Chico’s, I could do that at home with my mom. To be perfectly honest, the real reason we went up for the weekend was to go see Ali Wong’s stand-up show (which was amazing!), but the city has really changed and some great boutiques and one-off shops have popped up and I’m glad we spent the weekend checking it out!
We had a delicious pizza lunch at Lucky Penny before doing a little antiquing at The Blue Door (I picked up an awesome vintage unicorn stapler for my desk), were disappointed that the Surfing Museum has permanently closed, and then stopping for a wine tasting at Municipal Winemakers.
You can also rent a surrey or a bike at Wheel Fun Rentals and take a ride up the beach! We didn’t do this, but it looked fun, so maybe next time. And at the end of the day, we retreated to our Airstream hotel at AutoCamp.
