About us

Bde Maka Ska is the largest lake in Minneapolis. It joins the Lake of the Isles through a long channel and is the biggest lake of five that make up the Minneapolis Chain of Lakes. Surrounded by city park land and circled by bike and walking trails, it is popular for many outdoor activities like canoeing, fishing, wind surging, swimming, sailing, and of course, biking.

A summer day out with the family can be expensive, but Wheel Fun Rentals has the solution.

MINNEAPOLIS — At nearly every Minneapolis lake, you can find bike and boat rental options for the whole family.

Most likely, those rentals of kayaks, canoes, stand-up paddleboards or bikes are offered through Wheel Fun Rentals.

Rentals for the whole family can add up quick, so Wheel Fun Rentals offers deals and steals throughout the year!

If you and your family rent bikes and watercraft frequently, Wheel Fun offers an annual pass that gives you 50 percent off each rental after purchasing the pass.

If you’re a Big Brothers Big Sisters volunteer, Wheel Fun actually gives free rentals to volunteers and the children they mentor. The program, called “Biking Buddies,” started in 2006.

Also, kids’ bikes are only $9 to rent by the hour at all locations.

You don’t have to own a boat or paddleboard to get on the water in Minneapolis this summer. You can rent a variety of watercraft at a price that won’t break the bank.
