Wheel Fun Rentals puts City Park explorers in motion with a plethora of vessels for traversing land and seeing the sights. Intrepid adventurers can rent a range of vehicles, including Surreys or specialty cycles. Feel like a kid again as you achieve low-to-the-ground glory with a chopper, quad sport, or Deuce Coupe.

Once you've selected your roadster, cruise around Big Lake, explore the City Park track designed for the 1992 Olympic trials, or enjoy gallivanting under the world's largest stand of mature live oaks. Those looking for water-bound adventures can venture over to Big Lake and select from a wide variety of boats including kayaks and pedal boats. During aquatic excursions, wandering boaters may cruise past a summer concert, or explore the shoreline. For kayaking, come prepared to get a little wet from the drip of your paddle and splash of the water. Dress for the weather; lightweight, synthetic clothing is best. Prepare to be out in the sun; sunglasses, sun block and a hat that won’t blow off. A water bottle is also recommended for longer excursions.

Those looking for more of a core workout can hop atop stand up paddle boards and glide across the mirror-like water. Safety instructions and life jackets are provided with every rental, so it’s safe and fun for buccaneers of any age. Whether you are a local or visiting the park for the first time, don't miss this unique way to explore City Park!

City Park - New Orleans, LA

About the Area

City Park is as magical and unique as the city of New Orleans itself. The 1,300-acre outdoor oasis is one of the nation’s oldest urban parks. Each year, millions of visitors stroll under the same historic oaks and picturesque moss canopies that served as the backdrop for dances, concerts and even gentlemanly duels for generations.

Today’s City Park offers something for everyone. Stop and smell the roses in the Botanical Garden. Enjoy art in the open-air Besthoff Sculpture Garden. Stroll through the sprawling green space or get active on the park’s biking, jogging, and walking paths.

The park also offers a host of family-friendly activities, including the one-of-a-kind antique wooden carousel in the Carousel Gardens Amusement Park – a hand-carved marvel of “flying horses” that has been a family favorite for nearly 100 years. The crown jewel of City Park: the world’s largest stand of mature live oaks, which includes a grand oak that dates back nearly 800 years. If you have a free hour, come rent a cycle and drink in the sights.
