Swan Boat Night Rides Now Available on Big Lake at New Orleans City Park

For Immediate Release:

March 10, 2020

New Orleans, LA – The fun doesn’t stop when the sun sets – it’s just beginning! Wheel Fun Rentals is extending the hours at their New Orleans City Park location on Big Lake to offer night-time, LED-lit swan boat rentals!

Visitors and locals alike will be able to light up the lake every Friday and Saturday night with Wheel Fun Rentals’ iconic swan pedal boats. LED lights are mounted onto the sides and neck of the swans, creating an electrifying twilight experience that pairs perfectly with the New Orleans night sky.

Night-time rentals have launched and are now available at New Orleans City Park’s Big Lake every Friday and Saturday evening from Sunset until 10 p.m. with plans to expand to 7 days-a-week over the summer months. Pricing is $11 per hour for adults 18 and older, and $6 per hour for children 17 and under and no reservations are required.

“It’s hard to believe the swan boats could get even more exciting,” said Rodney Knight, owner and operator of Wheel Fun Rentals, on the decision to implement night-time boat rentals. “We’re always looking for fun new ways for guests to enjoy the park and our products; and, lighting up the boats really makes it an entirely new adventure.”

Having operated in New Orleans City Park since 2013, Wheel Fun Rentals introduced Swan Boats in 2018. These iconic boats have become a staple activity in the area for families, date nights, parties and more – including the Wednesdays with Wheel Fun program that provides free rentals to non-profit charities every week. With locations across the country, Wheel Fun Rentals has operated and lead the recreation industry for over 20 years.
